Radcliffe Construction, the Huddersfield-based construction project management firm, has been appointed to deliver a £1.7million solar re-roofing project for Elland based manufacturer, Decorative Panels.
Decorative Panels – which operates a 215,000 square foot manufacturing facility – has briefed Radcliffe Construction to project manage the installation of a full overclad of 6,700 square meters of existing roof and the fitting of over 2,000 PV solar panels.
Paul Radcliffe, managing director at Radcliffe Construction, said: “We are delighted to be working with the team at Decorative Panels again, having completed a 30,000 square foot warehouse extension project for the company in 2020.
“Our latest project will provide Decorative Panels with a new waterproof roofing system to help futureproof their manufacturing facility and play a key role in helping the company to reduce overall Co2 emissions by around 304kg per year through the installation of PV solar panels.
“The panels will provide just over 1.1million kWh/year of electrical energy that Decorative Panels can sell back to the National Grid, helping to pay off the panels in around three years and saving the company almost £6million over the lifetime of the panels, which is around 30 years.”
Work on the project is anticipated to be complete by the end of November.
